Turkey e-Visa Eligibility

Understanding your eligibility is the first step toward your journey to Türkiye. The Turkish e-Visa system is available to citizens of over 100 countries. However, the requirements and conditions vary significantly depending on your nationality. Some travelers can obtain a multiple-entry visa for a 90-day stay, while others may be restricted to a single-entry visa for 30 days and might require supporting documents like a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the US, the UK, or Ireland.

Eligible Countries for Turkey e-Visa

Below is a comprehensive guide to the eligibility criteria for the most frequent travelers to Turkey. If your country is not listed, please use our search tool or contact our support team for clarification.

United Kingdom Multiple Entry 90 Days No
United States Multiple Entry 90 Days No
Canada Multiple Entry 90 Days No

Conditional e-Visa Requirements

For citizens of certain countries (marked as "Supporting Doc Required" in the table above), the Turkish government issues what is known as a "Conditional e-Visa." To be eligible, you must meet additional criteria, which usually include:

  • Holding a valid supporting document (a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen area country, the USA, the UK, or Ireland).
  • Traveling for the purpose of tourism or business.
  • Holding a return ticket, hotel reservation, and adequate financial means (at least $50 per day of stay).
  • Traveling with an airline that has a protocol with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (most major international carriers).

It is important to understand that e-visas or residence permits from countries other than those listed (Schengen, US, UK, Ireland) are not accepted as supporting documents. Furthermore, the supporting visa or residence permit must be valid at the time of your entry into Türkiye.

Exemptions and Visa-Free Entry

Citizens of some countries are exempt from visa requirements for short stays. For example, many European Union citizens can enter Turkey with just their national ID card or passport for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. However, regulations change frequently, and it is always advisable to check the latest status before your departure.
